Movie swords from your favorite movies for the serious collectors of adult movie memorabilia.
As of the 6th April 2008 the Government introduced an amendment to the Criminal Justice 1988 Act which resulted in some samurai swords being added to the Offensive Weapons list, effectively banning them. This is a list of items prohibited for sale, import, trade or transfer within the UK. Many commentators have viewed the amendment as impractical and unnecessary, primarily because the ban only applies to swords with a curved blade in excess of 50cms, meaning straight bladed swords are still legal as are swords with a curved blade less than 50cms. Also, the amendment has been viewed as unnecessary when bearing in mind how many crazy loons actually use a samurai sword to attack somebody (not many) and impractical as any nut job can legally get his/her hands on nunchucks, throwing stars, axes, kitchen knives etc.
Anyhoo, to cut a long story short - straight bladed swords are legal to buy and sell in the UK and so are hand-forged curved blades. Hooray!
